About Us
Core Values
At Lanehaven Farms, our core values are more than words on a wall—they’re who we are. They are foundational to every aspect of our operation. They drive our decision-making every day. They guide how we work with landowners and partners. And they are stitched into the very fabric of our culture.

Our History
Situated at the end of a long lane, Gordon Hollis always thought of the farm as a refuge, a place of comfort. And he wanted others to feel that same way. So, in 1947 when he established the land as a dairy and crop operation, he called it Lanehaven Farms.
Much has changed in the years since. Lanehaven Farms switched emphasis from dairy to pork production in 1972, which continues to this day. The farm has also passed from one generation to the next—from Gordon to Curt Hollis and his wife Betty to Blake Hollis and his wife Sally, who continue to lead the operations today. Just as the name has stayed the same, however, the culture and sense of comfort Gordon sought to capture have endured.
In recent years, Lanehaven Farms and our team have been recognized on several occasions. In 2014, the farm received the Iowa Environmental Leader Award, and Curt and Betty Hollis were inducted into the Cedar Valley Junior Achievement Business Hall of Fame. And in 2016, the farm was awarded the Cedar Valley Environmental Steward of Character Award, while Lanehaven Farms received the 2016 Waterloo Friend of Tourism Award.
The team at Lanehaven Farms is proud of our history and all we have accomplished. However, the past three generations have always been more focused on the future. It’s why at Lanehaven Farms, we believe in taking care of the land and the people we work with.
